Mini Review
Conservation Agriculture (CA) in Vidarbha plays a crucial role in addressing agrarian distress, especially drought-related challenges, through integrated water and soil management practices. Techniques such as rainwater harvesting, farm ponds, and check dams enhance water availability, while residue retention and minimum tillage improve soil structure and conserve moisture for key crops like cotton, soybean, and sorghum. This approach aims to boost productivity, enhance climate resilience, and alleviate rural poverty by reducing runoff and encouraging efficient resource use. However, its adoption is limited by financial constraints, technical challenges, and lack of awareness among farmers. Therefore, supportive policies, improved access to resources, and capacity-building initiatives are essential to promote wider adoption and ensure long-term agricultural sustainability.
